Constrained recovery applications of Fe-(Mn, Ni)-Si-based shape memory alloys, with controlled properties by nanostructural changes at the level of martensite and austenitic matrix

Objectives

- 1/ 2007. Elaboration of new alloys Fe-Ni and Fe-Mn based alloys by classical technology (CT) and by powder metallurgy (PM);

- 1/ 2008. Determining chemical composition effects on structure and constrained recovery SME.

- 2/ 2008. Selecting optimum variant for primary heat treatment;

- 3/ 2008. Study of homogenization effects on structure and constrained recovery SME.

- 4/ 2008. Comparative structural characterization of stress induced martensite in Fe-Ni and Fe-Mn based SMAs.

- 1/ 2009. Cross-section reduction by conventional and unconventional procedure of plastic deformation;

- 2/ 2009 Study of the effects of cross-section reduction on the structure and constrained recovery SME.

- 3/ 2009 Setting the optimum SHT variant, for bainite and nanoprecipitates formation and for the formation of ε stress induced martensite within retained austenitic matrix;

- 4/ 2009 Characterization of nanoprecipitates, bainite and ε stress induced martensite and testing constrained recovery SME and damping behavior.

- 5/ 2009 Organizing the workshop Development of new Fe based SMAs applications ;

- 1/ 2010. Fabrication of the elements for coupling/ fixing by constrained recovery SME;

- 2/ 2010 Testing coupling/ fixing elements under laboratory conditions.
